  • Aldi fruit packs

    Hi,

Has anyone out there got any idea what the varietys are that come in the £1.99 triple packs from Aldi. I got a couple of packs of Black Currant, Red Currant and Gooseberry. The pack it came in had no suggestion of what varietys they are. Its not a case of need to know but it would be nice.

    TIA

I too would be interested. Think we need to wait until they fruit to get an idea.

The reason they are so cheap is that they are two year cuttings, I have never had any problems with these at all and would recommend them to anyone.

I think its a case of 'If you want named varieties you will need to pay more than £1.99 for three bushes' I'm afraid

I know what you mean, but i think they are all unknown, cheap and generic.

I also got a pack of these, and also unknown raspberries from Poundstretcher and unknown Blueberries from Wilkinsons.

Hopfully will have something to add to my readybreak during the summer.

Why not email Aldi head office and see if their suppliers know they varieties? They might know but not bother to put them on the packs.

I think the raspberries are a summer fruiting variety, but beyond that I don't know. Just pretty chuffed to extend my fruit bed at those prices.
