  • lettuce leaves, gooey white stuff

    i have some mixed lettuce leaves on my windowsill, it appears they have started to bolt, i cut some leaves this morning and there is white stuff in the stalks, is it anything to worry about? i have them here in a bag at work for lunch with some ham but im in 2 minds..... its really putting me off.

    It's just the sap from the plant. Won't harm you - just wash it off if you don't like the look of it.

        Perhaps I should eat lettuce before going to bed then. Bladdy rain woke me up at 5.30 this morning.
