  • what can i sow now

    after planting out all my brassicas i have some space left and the onion bed is now free and the new potato bed/first earlies will be empty too soon,,,no plants left in the green house/out side so what can i sow now

    If you have no leek plants and have enough brassicas, then you are left with Japanese onion sets in Sept, broad beans, garlic and salad crops methinks.

      Florence fennel is better planted now as it is less likely to bolt & Mizuna & pak choi are fine too.

                  Florence Fennel i've just set some seeds will have have time to mature? Some books say fine to set now other say i should be planting plants out.

                  Use any carrot seeds you've got left over as it will be no use next year.
                  Growing vegetables and flowers to share.

                    Carrot seeds are perfectly viable for up to three years, longer if stored well. It's parsnips that are unlikely to viable after the first year, although I'm sure I read on here that someone had success with older ones.
