    Greenhouse bits

    Not sure if this should be here or "Under Cover", although we're not under cover yet as we haven't got the glass into the greenhouse.

    Got a greenhouse from "Freecycle". Frame removed from allotment by the allotment "police" as "a load of aluminium". We retrieved from scrapheap but with bits missing.

    Somehow, most of the (i don't know what to call it) but the rubber bits that seperate the glass from the frame are missing. As I got the GH from FC I don't know what make it is, I do know it's worth about £800 so removing the frame from my plot was absolutely not on. I don't know how to replace the rubber bits. I've looked through "spares" websites, but they don't look like he same stuff. I've also realised that the staging is totally missing .

    I used draught excluded to glaze mine, but it depends whether you have enough width on the glazing bars. I used the brown type because I thought it might be more UV resistant than the white.

      As it's only to stop the glass wobbling and to make a waterproof seal, I reckon your solution sounds like a good one Kristen!

        draught excluder sounds good, if you do want the 'proper stuff' B&Q do sell the black rubber seal as spares

          When I built mine (got from eBay) I couldn't find the right "profile" for the rubber strip anywhere. Depends what's still made I suppose.

            Not sure if they'll have what you're looking for Janie, but Harrod Horticultural do quite a few greenhouse fixings etc. Scroll right down the page, most of the bits are near the bottom.

              I found I had a picture, of sorts! You can just about make out the brown seal on the next two glazing bars
