  • Senetti

I picked up a pot of my usual purple osteospermum from the nursery, and saw they had loads of Senetti at £3. I'd never heard of it, so left it behind.

Now I've read up a bit, and I wish I'd got one.
Anyone else grow them, are they really easy? Long flowering season?

They look pretty, I'd like to try some too.

I bought one a few weeks back cos they're so striking. I asked the nurserywoman about them and she said they are annuals but the MIGHT overwinter. I think the flowering season is quite long, as in from Spring right through the summer.
Whilst I was there I got some really lovely osteospermum in coppery tones.

        Senetti

Hi I'm new and only registered to find out about Senetti plants. I saw them in a local farm shop and they where just so beautiful, but they were nearly £6. So started to search on line with very few results. I am trying to find some that are dark blue also purple. Anyone got any ideas?

Digby - no problem at all.
In fact, I have just this moment planted out 3 Senettis (3 for a tenner). They are so cheerful

A couple of weeks ago I got purple ones from Homebase - £6.99 each or two for a tenner. Big pots too!

Just got 3 large plants for £10 at homebase - the deepest purple and very big bushy plants, they will go well in my blue bed :-)

                    Hi

I am new to this forum and to gardening really. I hope that I can learn a lot of things from this lovely site and give plants to my friends and charity fairs etc as well as enjoy them myself.
So my first question is - I have Senetti still in flower in my garden in Gloucestershire and I am wondering if I should dig them up and bring them indoors before the first frosts, and also when and how to take cuttings? I just have no idea and would love to save them and grow more from them if I can. Thank you for your help.
