We have just built a greenhouse that is mainly to be used as a sun room, rather than a growing room. We would like a tall, but not bushy plant for one corner. Any suggestions?

This is a runner bean I planted much too early so had to keep it indoors for a pet. Makes nice, tall , not too wide plant and all for the price of a bean.

i would go for a chilli bush they are nice plants and produce very bright colour changing fruit chillis always look grand, you should be able to pick them up as plants in the garden centre atm and they taste great on a fried egg butty

Some one I know has a nice Cactus that you could grow
& if you want Flowers well.....
.
He's got a head start as he klives in Tuscon Arizona, but it would probably be OK in a nice Pot as well

If you want a flowering plant what about a passion flower? Or if you want to grow something to eat how about a dwarf fruit tree - something unusual that will not grow outdoors.[Comment

I read somewhere that the vine root has to be planted outside. Is that right? Am just getting my planthouse/greenhouse finalised - foundations in and brick work ready to go - so also looking for something nice to sit around. Its only 10 x 8 but already I have moved in with sunlounger, gin and tonic etc.Originally posted by jonny

That's right Jenny, you plant the root of the vine outside and lead it in through an opening. Enjoy your greenhouse.
