  • Black plastic...

I'm about to do cover my unused beds in tons of horse poo and cardboard, but I'm struggling to find acres of black plastic to cover the beds with afterwards.

My veg beds are pretty large, so using bin bags is out of the question, and landscape fabric is rather pricey.

Anyone know where I can get large quantities of cheap plastic sheeting from?

Silage bags from your local farm supplies(do you have a Mole Valley Farmers near you) or big bale wrap, ditto.
A lot of farmers are at a loss to know what to do with bale wrap and may be overjoyed for you to take it away!!It's fairly thick and it's black and there is masses of it.
It may pay you to 'phone round your local farmers and enquire. The worse they can say is"Get off of my land!!!)

We've actually tried their tarps to cover up a bed (but with no manure or cardboard) and there was enough light for the weeds to grow underneath!!
