Default dehydrator or hang dry ?

thinking of buying a iron ring to hang off the celing to dry my herbs this year.
It saves him indoors moaning about things hanging off every avalible space.
But does anyone think that a dehydrator is better than hang drying?
Dont know whether it would be worth the money or not.
Any views??

I always hang dry herbs ( cos I haven't got a dehydrator -yet)
You just need to do them in batches and spread them around a bit
Mine's like this one.....

Have you got the right kind of space for hanging up to dry? Out of cooking smells etc? I haven't - and I wanted to dry more than herbs, so I got my lovely dehydrator. Worth it for the fruit leathers alone!!

I once had the idea of knocking up a few of those and flogging them on ebay where they make stupid money!

Ner, I just watch! I make a mean pot on the potter's wheel though!
I just worked out your question, Snadger - I meant as well as a lottie keeper, chicken keeper and general builder of interesting shaped chicken houses - now a blacksmith too.
I'm just a potty old lady, me.

Easy peasey!
Google will find you loads of recipes.

Anyone know a cheap source for teflon sheets? I could do with some to cut up and put in the trays of my Westfalia dehydrator, but don't fancy cutting up ones that cost £8 a sheet!

Very - basically you are dehydrating fruit puree. Takes a few hours- but great for using that glut of fruit and lasts for ages (that's a lie- mine last minutes!)

Home and Bargin was selling the sheets at 99p each, but only had a few left.

Last week our local Lidl also had some, 33x40cm for £1.49.
