Default Lemongrass

I have managed to grow some lemongrass but I'm not sure what to do with it. What sort of dishes would you use it in ?

I'm sure we do a whole fish with lemongrass, chilli and garlic, all bunged into some tin foil and stuck in the oven. Along with some roasted new potatoes with garlic an rosemary. Dead easy.

As piskie said, it is use a lot in Thai food. I'm pretty sure it is one of the essential ingredients in coconut milk soup.

Thai Green curry paste, I always use it in that. Plus you need to beat it up a bit too to soften the stalk for cutting plus it releases the lemony flavor.

I tried to grow from seed once but alas....... I failed

I bought mine from the supermarket and put them in water till they grew roots and I just potted them up.

The leaves of lemongrass make a lovely refreshing herbal tea. Put some leaves in a mug or teapot and pour over hotwater and leave to infuse for 5 - 10 minutes. Delicious after a meal. Helps the digestion, like mint tea.
