Has anyone tried it, grown it? I got a packet of the seeds given to me and chucked the lot into a few pots....I now have tons and tons of the stuff

Do I prick it out? Do I plant in clumps? gawd knows

if its like usual coriander, its probably too close and if its going leggy its not getting enough light.

I'd never heard of it, had to Google: An unusual annual herb from Mexico. The leaves have a spicy citrus-like flavour; used to make salsa; can also be used in cooking like coriander. Has blue-green pointed leaves. grows to one metre tall

Oh - THAT bolivian coriander. It was the blue-green pointed leaves that gave it away.

We call it Quill Quina.

How many seedlings have you got???

it grows a good metre tall; I had about 5 and had to move it to its own fairly huge pot as it got too big for the patch it was in.

it finally died in about end nov/beg dec.

I didn't like it as a herb - but then again I think it needs potatoes and pinto beans [which I am growing this year hopefully]. But loved it as a plant.

Do you know what; i can't flippin remember. I do remember thinking 'i wonder if we'll get seeds' - they are really light and fluffy aren't they so it must do at some point. It will all be so different this year, what with the camera phone and my notebook!

I think it went over whilst we were in the states last October. It was mainly leaves for a long while though.

Not like coriander to be honest. Couldn't put my finger on anything like it. Unless I got a bad batch of cross fertilised seeds which could be the problem. But mine were from Real Seeds which I usually find excellent.

When it grows try it with some tomatillo and let me know what it is like. I think you use it in dressings or salady raw food things! Enjoy but if it is good save those seeds and swap for something you havent got.
