To be honest, I'm sick of bringing stuff home to be put to one side and used when it's been out of the ground as long as Tesco's foostuff........
This way it can be cut seconds before it's cooked.
Spring Cabbage in pots are deffo being grown in the greenhouse overwinter this year as well! A successful experiment (and a lovely foliage pot plant!)

I begged the pots from a caterer last year! Whats the point in your poor veg freezing there nads off outdoors when there's an empty greenhouse going begging throughout the winter?
They are protected from wind damage, predation from animals and are in a controlled growing enviroment.
Because it's winter they don't need watering much (wouldn't fancy tring to grow cabbage indoors in summer!)
It's a case of making the fullest use of any resources you have available!
