  • My 1st tomato

Not a prize winning one but nevertheless makes us very happy.

It's a green tomatoe called Malakhitovaya Shkatulka from Baker Creek Seeds.

It's grown outdoor with just a touch of orange.

We gonna let it lie next to a banana for a couple of days and then eat it. :-)

        Hi dark crystal,

Given enough time, my green tomatoes would also turn red. There's a pic here.

But they are ripe when they turn slightly yellow-olive green.

To be honest, I'd wait till yours get a bit more colour, in case they are not the same variety. Usually green tomatoes are somewhat poisonous.

        Enjoy!

Thanks RT! It's a really nice feeling! Knowing that you nurtured the plant for so long and now it grew you such a lovely fruit!
