Default very poor growth...whats wrong??

I am a bit confused as all the flowers I have tried to grow are very slow, or very small tiny little thing that doesn't seems to grow at all
I did so many thing to improve my soil, that at this point I really don't know what is wrong with them??
calendula, love in a mist and flax are in the same stage since....a month or so... since I transplanted them there is no signs of new growth, even if they look ok, no new leaves
the only one that grow happily are the weeds!!
does anyone have had the same problem? do you think is weather related ( few cold snap that slow everything down...? ) or maybe not enough water? ( my soil is quite sandy and drain quickly )
Please help!!!

Maria, if your seedlings are outside and got hit by a cold snap they could be "checked" by the cold. They can sit for a couple of weeks before they grow on - or might never grow on. It's the problem of planting too early. Wait and see. They might pick up and get on with it. Good luck.

Where did you grow your seedlings? How big were they when you planted them out? Did you water them in really well when you transplanted them?

Hi Maria
I only sowed my flax and nigella last week; and the cosmos self sown from last summer isn't showing yet. I think you just need to give it time...as long as they haven't wiled or died off then they will catch up once the shock of transplanting is over.

mmm...I think I didn't realized it might be too soon.
The flower bed is completely empty and I just get nervous about it! Last year it was my first year and I didn't manage to grow anything.. this year I feel more prepared but probably to impatient!
I think I better sow again this time straight into the ground, what do you think?
I also have some chamomile and sweet Williams in the cold frame, they have come to the second leaves stage, when should I plant them?

Thanks all for your help!

Sweet Williams should be ok to plant out now.

Can't advise about chamomile as I have never grown it, a more experienced grape will come along soon.
