  • Question on cutting back - How far?

    Setting the scene . . .
My neighbor has had a stroke and is in hospital recovering and her daughter has asked me to keep the garden tidy / weeded.

I'm stuck as to what to do with these flowers re cutting back and how far to cut back.

This is a wild geranium, think they are also called Blue / Pink geranium which I've taken off all the foliage.

I don't know what this plant is called.

The bottom picture is whats left when the foliage is cut away.

I've been told that I can cut them both back down to the ground and they will grow again though as it's not my garden thought it best to ask for a second opinion here.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please

    Thanks

Looks like a heuchera to me. I don't usually cut back but remove old leaves as they are pretty much evergreen here.

Take off all the old leaves from the Geraniums but not too soon as they will regrow and do as Wendy says with the heuchera and just take off any dead or tired leaves.
