Lawn Care Question.

Well, when I say lawn I mean area of grass. Although it is far from crown green standard I do like to keep the moss to grass ratio within limits. I often scarify the lawn to remove moss and thatch. I also spike it with the fork or a hollow tine rake but the last few wet summers and this dreadful winter means the moss is slowly gaining the upper hand.

Now to my question. When I bought my Mantis tiller it came with some tines for aerating the lawn. They work by cutting slits into the lawn surface. I have never had the confidance to use them, being frightened they might pull the lawn to bits.

Has any one out there used these or a similar tool for aerating their lawn?

What sort of job did it do?

Would you use it now while the lawn is wet and soft or wait until things start to dry out a bit?
