My geums have been lovely but,despite dead heading, are straggly and only producing the odd very small flower. I have cut back, will I get another show of them this year?

No matter:the allotment is lovely, the tadpoles have legs, my sea kale has germinated and I am glad to be home. -
Was thinking of deadheading mine and found this---"It's a little tricky in deadheading Geum. Sometimes there are more buds coming on the original stems and you just can't see them. Thats why I often just snip off only the fuzzy seed heads."Riddlesdown (S Croydon) -
Yes snip off the dead fuzzy seed heads and you should get more flowers. Just watch out for small caterpillars that will strip the plants.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poetComment
