Passion flower would fit the bill. You might even get the odd flower surviving into winter

I too would recommend Passion Flower, very fast growing, mine is huge and stays green all winter long even here in the cold peak district.

The only true blue climbing flower I can think of is a morning glory - which is just a climbing annual. Or you could try some of the solanums but they are much more purple. However if you like a perfumed climber than you could do worse than trachelospermum jasminoides which has little starry white flowers - but not in the winter. What is the aspect you want to grow your climber up?

It is a south-facing wall next to my patio doors. I'd like something that would fill the 6ft gap quickly.

It doesn't HAVE to be blue flowered, by the way- I just haven't got much blue in the garden.

Trachelospurmum jasminoides is a gorgeous climber. It is evergreen with smallish leaves, the flowers are white and highly scented. It is slow to start but when it gets settled covers the area very well. Mine grows on north facing and south facing fences and has grown up and over and down into the neghbours garden - she is pleased as it is such a good looking plant.
When it is unhappy the leaves will turn red so a good indicator that some tlc is needed!

Right, I know you said you'd got Clematis, but there are 2 evergreen, winter-flowering ones: C. cirrhosa 'Freckles', scented, small-flowered, cream with red spots, quite hardy, or, C armandii, long, leathery leaves, scented white or pale pink flowers, but we can't grow it here in Sutton Coldfield. There are a couple of gorgeous blue climbers; Sollya heterophylla - Australian bluebell vine, gorgeous small blue trumpets, needs protection in v. bad winters, or maybe something called (I think) Billardiera. Doesn't have interesting flowers, but lovely purple fruits resembling mini bell-peppers!
