  • Dwarf rhodedanron problem

I have had this in my garden for about 10 years and it always did well . It's about 3 ft tall . This year it looks very sorry for itself , with hardly any flower buds and the leaves although dark green are drooping down . I have given it it's spring dose of fertiliser and iron . Made sure it has plenty of water , but no improvement . Any ideas ?

Could it be suffering from the wet winter? Has it sat in flood water at any point? Try scratching the bark and look to see if it is green. If it is it's alive, if brown it's dead I'm afraid. Perhaps try digging around the roots to see what's going on there. I'm wondering if vine weevil grubs are eating the roots, but I'm not sure rhododendrons are on their hit list! Do any leaves have notches nibbled out of them?)

I will I will do more checking in daylight tomorrow . It didn't get flooded . There are leaves only on the ends of the branches so is looking a bit sparse

No knot he's out of leaves . Branches still green at tops . Tried to post pic but when I click upload nothing is happening . Perhaps it's because I'm using an I pad

Just to update everyone . When I dug it up it had only a small ball of roots , so I guess that was the problem .
