Default dark red petunias ('purple wave'?)

Dear All,

Am trying to find some of these, happy to grow from seed, or to buy young plants, for my hanging basket next year. I'm looking for the really dark red ones, I think they are called purple wave, and they need to be the hanging tyoe. I'm looking for a cascade of flowers over the edges of the basket.

would be grateful for all advice, I've looked in a few garden centres, but no joy.

I found some at B&Q as young plants - and are a trailing variety. We've got them in pots on the kitchen outside sill. I'll try to post a piccie but I'm a bit rubbish at that sort of thing!

They look lighter in colour on photo actually - darker in reality.

thanks Rhona, There's a b & q near my folks, I'll have a look. How easy is it to save seed from them, do you know?

haven't a clue to be honest. I've never tried with petunias. I was unsuccessful growing from seed so just rely on plugs. Good luck if you do give it a go.
