| Yes you can. It protects them somewhat from slugs too, but watch they don't dry out. Ordinary multi-purpose compost is fine.

| I grow all mine in containers and they're fine, just make sure that you feed and water plenty.

| I have about 8 plants in one of those herb pots and had a great crop last year and have 2 troughs of them too and again the crop was good as the palnts were small. The good thign is you can move them about if you need to and easier to control pests and easy to cover with netting. janeyo |
