| Is there any such thing as a self fertile cooking apple. I've only got room for 1 and there aren't others round about (I don't think). Can anyone suggest a variety or weblionks?

| I don't know about that but you can get Bramley as part of a family tree. http://www.deaconsnurseryfruits.co.u...alfamilytrees/ have triples.

| Hi Johnty, most apples are self sterile or only partial self fertile at best. If you only have room for 1 variety a family tree would be best. However, have you thought about growing a row of apple trees as cordons. I have 6 in a row along one plots boundary and they take up no more room than a row of say raspberry canes and you can plant varieties which are all from the correct pollinating groups, maximising your crop.
