| You may get a bit of fruit in the first year Colin. It wont be much but its still welcome. Make sure the trees are staked and for the first year at least keep them watered in dry weather as lack of water is the biggest killer of young trees. An added tip, when planting dig a square hole as occasionally with round holes the roots just grow round and round and never spread out into the surrounding soil. One last one, for young trees keep a good metre area around them clear of any growth till they are established, a good mulch will help here, as well as keeping the area moist.
