  • With added Sincro Boost??????????? eek!

A lot of potting compost blurb boasts about having this Sincro Boost added and I was just wondered If anyone new what the heck it is and why do we all of a sudden need it? Sounds like a bit of a con to me along with the term 'With added John Innes'. John Innes is a cheap to make soil based compost and they are bragging about adding it. Have you ever tried to pick up a bag of compost with added John Innes............I have and I nearly put my back out!
Most compost these days seems to be composted forest bark, which looks very course but the plants seem to relish the open texture.

just something i found when i googled it:

"This is what it says about Sincro-Boost on the back...

...also contains Sincro-Boost for more enviromentally friendly growing conditions. Sincro-Boost is a natural product made from recycled organic materials. It boosts nutrition, improves root growth and holds moisture whilst ensuring good drainage......"

sounds like some cheap peat replacement additive, wood shredding or the like

      Synchro Boost - Yu-Gi-Oh!
      !!

More seriously (from Williams Sinclear annual report, I assume they make the stuff)

      COMPOSTS WITH SINCRO-BOOST
      • Sincro-Boost is a natural ingredient made from recycled green materials
      • It is naturally high in nutrients and has an open texture
      • When added to composts it improves their performance at the same time as
      reducing the peat content

In other words - a peat substitute made out of unspecified "recycled green materials"...

Warning: I have a dangerous tendency to act like I know what I'm talking about.

So why don't they just say "with added semi composted wood chips"!

I remember chutneys used to have "With added Rutabaga"..............I looked it up..........it's flaming swede!

In fact I would buy compost if it stated " Totally devoid of Sincro Boost"

Recycled green materials? So... that's compost, isn't it?

              Poo?

It's a bit like face creams and stuff 'with added Made-Up-Word!!!'... they make me snort in a most unladylike fashion

And all those shampoo ads with made up vitamins. Must work for some people but all that spin does nothing for me.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Ever wondered where your grass cuttings and other garden waste goes after you have binned it? The answer is we sell it back to you as sincroboost boost and new horizon compost!! Or in other words yes sincroboost boost just like 'with added John Innes' (loam) is a con that makes compost cheaper to produce without passing that saving on to the customer.

Don't get sincroboost confused with our latest method of scamming you, if it looks like small wood chips (un-composted) then that is exactly what it is. Just more cheap bag filler!

Oh the wonderful world of the marketing men again eh?!!!
If it comes from a plant, eat it. If it was made in a plant, don't!!

I wonder how much a bag of compost would cost if it contained Bifidus Digestivum and L Casei Immunitas. More made-up gobbledegook to herd the sheeple towards their products.
