Can anyone advise me where to buy seed potatoes this time of year.

I've just stuck a couple of my mongrels (leftover from last year, didn't dig them all up. Also put ordinary supermarket ones in to see what would happen) back in the compost heap, from whence they came...

You won't find any for sale right now, you will need to order for delivery end June/ July - the ones you find (like Carlingford) will be salad/ early varieties intended for a container-grown "christmas" crop. It's a gamble and you need shelter for them. It is too late to be sowing a second early or maincrop in the ground.

I have some seed potatoes which I got sent free from Thompson & Morgan and haven't managed to find space for them yet. They are 2nd earlies which take around 13 weeks from planting to harvest, they will need plenty of water and may need fleece cover if you get very early frosts, but if you want 'em??! This is a link to the description
http://potatoes.thompson-morgan.com/product/zww5166/1

send me a Private Message with your address and I'll send em off.
