Default New look at allotment

I took over my allotment April last year with a friend. We dug it over, very heavy work as it's oxford clay. She has now decided to back out so the plot is now mine all mine.

I've tried posting this a cuppla times tonight, but with piccies and I haven't got the hang of that. My degree is in IT so I'm missing something. I will persevere, in the meantime you get a post sans piccies.

The lottie is 85' X 25', facing SSW down a slope. The top has a shed with a decrepid and unusable and unreparable "greenhouse" behind. The shed is actually brilliant, but is in the wrong place. Having had a critical look at it today, it's got to go. So the top 27' of the lottie is designated "Soweto" and has to go.

I'm now going to list the inventory, some things are not included as I can't reach them or don't want to try. There's plastic over some stuff that disintegrates on touch so I want something to put it in before I investigate further.

Inventory:

8x8 Greenhouse (dismantled)
Lotsa pots, propagators, seed trays.
Seeds
Grubber
Rake
Hay fork
Spades
Hoe
Pitchfork
Rubbish bin
Incinerator
3 waterbutts (there were 5 but 2 have been nicked)
Heavy duty sprayer
Long-handled fork
Buckets
Parafin heater/cooker (with chimney)
Various plant foods
WD40
Jeyes fluid
Hand shovel
Watering can roses (watering can defunct)
Roll of carpet underfelt
2 x rolls semi permeable membrane
Safety mask
Whetstone
Swoe (very rusty)
Plant labels
Cuprinol
BBQ lighter
Dibbers
String
Machete (rusty)
Tool belt (good condition) I nearly bought one of these before Xmas!!
Bamboo canes
3 x very old saucepans
Large tarpaulin
15 x rockets (no not lettuce or spuds) actual FIREWORKS.
Can of Brut deoderant
Staple gun
Large quantity of timber
Rope
Polytunnel cover (I suspect the frame is around but I haven't found it yet).
Several sheets of glass
Double glazed panels
Door.

Oh and!

Some ar*ehole has nicked my rhubarb and strawberries! The one job I had in mind was to force the rhubarb. No longer relevant. A big hole in the ground.

I met another recent tenant allotmenteer whose had ALL his crops planted since June nicked.

Wow, you got quite a lot with your lottie there, though some I suspect you'd rather you didn't have!

On mine I had a matress, moriss minor bumper, bent bike frame, 3 leccie lawn mowers and one of those subbuttio [sp] type tables

Yup, that's my degree too, but I often get asked the bits they didn't teach me, and people must disbelieve that I did it at all

Not a bad haul Janie, most of it sounds useful at least! The only thing on mine was loads of half buried black plastic, broken glass & plenty o weeds!

Can't believe people are digging up & stealing plants...??!! How despicable is that??

A can of Brut deodorant!?! Blimey, that shed hasn't been used in a while!

Does look like a bit of a treasure trove there! Does make you wonder why people think it's ok to go and nick anything they haven't worked for/earned, but plants!?! Madness.

OMG Flum... I was going to do Geology and for what I now know to be a totally stooooopid reason, I didn't and ended up doing IT. I've regretted not following my heart with Geology ever since

It's a fantastic 'general science' degree. You do bits of biology, geochemistry, geophysics, even lunar! Loved it.

JanieB, That list makes it sound like a serial killer had the plot before you.

Wonderful list JanieB! I take it that as your erst while partner has gone you have had to change plot? Can't help with rhubarb, don't grow it as I'm the only one who will eat it and I can beg a load off my Dad during the season.
