  • Need advice (butler sinks)

    I have been given two large butler sinks dating back to the thirties. Do i grow herbs in them, use one for a small pond, grow a tree. Giz a clue. What have you done.
    good Diggin, Chuffa.

    Herbs!

    But if I had two I'd also have a little pond.
    You are a child of the universe,
    no less than the trees and the stars;
    you have a right to be here.

      If i use the smaller one for a pond will i need to put plastic in the bottom of the trench to stem the flow of water ie will the water leak into the ground.

              Nope, you grow herbs in one, and give the other one to me

                      We have 3, I used one to make an outside sink below my tap. Great for cleaning off pots boots etc, filling buckets to wash the car, soaking dry pots. And if you set it up correctly none of the water goes to waste as you can have the waste going to a storage vessel to fill watering cans.

                      I have also seen one as a water feature where they plugged the bottom and a pump filled it while it overflowed, sort of a bit surreal but quaint for a quiet corner of the garden.
                      I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
