A friend and I have 110 tomato plants growing in situ - 4 different varieties - and they and our potatoes have what appear to be 'freckles' on their leaves - I have freckles myself, so I don't have anything against them, but I don't think they should be there.....!!
any advice/help/ideas?!

Could possibly be blight - I do hope not, but the weather lately has been wet and warm(ish). I would just like to ask why you need 110 tomato plants?

Not a bad question. I found 8 plants too much last year! There's another post about patchy tomato leaves you should look at, which also effects my toms, and it's most likely scorching of the wet leaves we've had recently.
Toms and Potatoes are both succeptible to Blight though. I've got a light brown dry patching on the leaves which i'm certain is scorching

It says in my pest guide that with blight "brown patches develop around the tips and edges of the leaves", if that's any help.

My pest books say the same which is why I don't think it's blight.
Doesn't look like scorching either, but I hope that's it - i think i'll leave it for a day or so, then see what they're doing.

I am not sure it's any of those at all! lol!

I had freckly pansies earlier in theyear. I have some pots with dark blue pansies in and after a good watering they got the sun on them one day and ended up with white 'freckles' - it could be water splash followed by sun scortch.

it's almost certainly not blight this time of year ( unless it's migrated north early ) Mine was caused by a hail storm we had about two weeks ago. It could be something as simple as flea beetle damage as well.
