I think I have a large list on my 'puter of not only companion plants but plant antagonists too. PM me with your e mail address and I'll send you a copy if you'd like one. Same for any other grapes out there. I know I sent it to a few last year but there are so many new members since last Spring, might be of interest to them.

Carrots and onions worked perfectly in my garden last year - so I'm trying it commercially now - will let you know. The carrots deter the onion fly, and the onions deter the carrot fly - that's the theory.
Having said that, I was reading an article on the web and the gardener in question has decided to opt for environmesh this year after struggling with companion planting for the last three years and losing crops because of it.

carrot fly /earthing up the carrot tops stops the fly laying /as the tops are not xposed

This week on Gardeners World, Monty Don was using wild flowers to companion plant with carrots. He alternated the rows.
