  • Anyone interested in a Digging Day to help sort out our allotments?

    Hi Guys,

Just back from a day of digging on the plot, another 2 beds cleared, which brings the total to 6 clear and 3 planted, with 25 beds and the 2 greenhouses still to clear and plant, plus a darn good tidy up desperately needed.

With losing my job in November (and sufferring a bit of depression afterwards whilst recovering from being burned out) and recently starting a new job Im working a lot of hours whilst I learn everything, so time is a bit short atm, and with Mr D sufferring from a hernia we are sadly falling well behind where we need to be with the allotments.

Methinks a Digging Day and BBQ for anyone from the Grapevine (plus any of our friends) who can make it to Manchester, who would like to come and give us a hand could be the only way we are going to get the plot sorted this year in time for planting, especially with Lee suffering with a Hernia and my back being a bit dodgy too! Anyone up for it? Ill provide the BBQ n Beer (wine n mead too) and you can take as many strawberry plantlets and raspberry canes as you want from where they have been spreading? Let me know if you can help and Ill arrange a date, possibly a Sunday, either next weekend, Easter Sunday or the one after?
    Blessings

Do you need to dig? I just pull up the old stuff, compost it, rake it over and it's good to go.

Mrs Dobby, which side of Manchester are you?

I may be able to help but I'm not making any promises as yet.

It definately won't be this weekend, collecting my daughter from uni & bringing her home

We are away Easter weekend & the weekend after I am working but... The weekend after that I'm off if you still need a hand but again, no promises just yet.
