    Foxes :-(

    I have a couple of raised beds in my back garden where I grow some vegetables. The problem I have is a fox has decided to do some gardening in them and has started digging holes and the vegetables as well. Last year was the first year of growing vegetables for me and when the fox started on the raised beds I put a 3 foot netted fence around them and the problem went away. This year the fox just keeps pushing the fence down every time I put it back up.

    I don’t mind the fox in the garden but any suggestions on how to keep it away from my vegetables, please.

        Huge fearless eatsitall put old tights with human hair in them(raid local hairdressers rather than pull your own out) round his chickens and that worked apparently.They don't like the smell of humans!I'm not so keen on their smell either!!(urine works as well,but put it a bucket rather than spray it on,saves awkward conversations with the police later)

          Thanks for the suggestion.

          I have heard that before but always wondered if it worked. Do I have to put loads down or just some and will it need changing every month or is it just the one time.

          I think I will give the hair a try before the other option

            A determined fox will get through most defences.

            If shooting is out of the question, I would suggest that a good and regular dose of pepper around the planter would be sufficient to make him look elsewhere.

            Cayenne, mixed with standard fine pepper usually works well. It mat sound a little harsh but their noses are so much more sensetive than ours, he will smell it long before he noses around in it.

            If on the other hand you wish to encourage him, put a little cat/dog food out and 'feed him off' your plants.
