Walking the dogs this morning in the dark and rain as per usual and I saw a fox which is quite a regular occurrence this time of year as they return home. Anyway he strolled off into the woods and then there were some sounds that was a bit like a crows call. Just got me thinking that every sound I've heard from a fox sounds distressed like someone has just stood on a paw, even the mating call is a scary scream. I've found a few videos on the interweb explaining the different calls, and seems the one this morning was likely a warning bark so I'm guessing he'd maybe got a bit too close to another lair.
