I was just sorting out the rubbish for collection tomorrow, when I saw a beautiful red admiral butterfly, sitting on my lilac tree. I went to get my camera and its gone................first one of the year, is MN trying to tell us something?

Had to let a trapped tortoiseshell, that was fluttering against the window of the utility room free yesterday.

Had a huge wasp in the house last night all dopey looking, wondered if it was a queen coming out of hibernation.
Have had quite a few bumble bee in the garden this week, not spotted any butterflies yet though.

I bet a load will be appearing tomorrow with the mini 'heat wave'...the frost at weekend won't be kind to them though

Don't they only last a couple of days???Anyone know??
If so- any eggs will be frozen

I think Kent must be a butterfly free zone, not one - zilch.
have jammed my allotment flower bed with all their favourites - a butterfly buffet and if after that there's nothing we're all doomed...

There has been a big yellow butterfly around the lottie for the past week or so. Glad the PSB was already Fort-Knoxed against the pigeons!

I've seen a peacock and a couple of red admirals - hope they find a sheltered spot for the next few days!

Was sat in the study yesterday evening admiring a pair of tits in the garden, then two robins arrived and I spotted a bumble bee hovering round by the bins - quite balmy it was too.
