  • Bob's back

The male blue tit that roosted in the nest box near my lounge window last winter has returned again this year.

He flew in at about 16.15 yesterday, perched on the outside of the nest hole for a good two minutes surveying the area before hopping inside to settle down for the night.

Great to see him back and looking in good condition.

I'd never really thought about where birds sleep at night!...always associating nesting boxes with, well, nesting..not bedrooms!

I've noticed a lot more bluetit's on the feeders over the last couple of weeks.
I was watching our sunflower heads swaying around when it wasn't windy...went to have a look and they were covered in birds!
    Lovely sight!

One summer a coal tit dug a hole in the side of my hanging basket and to my delight he roosted in that hole every night for the entire summer! The basket was just outside our kitchen window so every evening I could see his tail sticking out of the hole!
The best things in life are not things.
