My meadow patch looks like this at the mo. Like everything else it could do with some attention.

No pictures, but I sat in the flower garden end and was surprised to see butterflies on my lavender and salvia. Happy days

This morning I was quite excited to see a small butterfly with what looked like pure black upper wings and spotted underwings. Having rushed home to search on the butterfly ID site, turns out it was just a ringlet - apparently the young ones can look like they have black upper wings.

I've got three buddleias in full bloom, and not a bee or butterfly anywhere near them. Think it's just too cold and windy.

It's that time of year again folks, the BIG Butterfly count is back and runs from Friday 14th July to Sunday 6th August. It doesn't take long to do and can be fun for all the family.

It is that time again. Lots of butterflies about again this year and it feels like I am gaining more each year. The buddleia isn't out yet so there is a lack of peacocks and tortoiseshells.
