I think that the lack of bees in Japan this year may be due to the huge radiation leaks that are occuring at Fukushima? .... they have not been able to contain the radiation and vegetables, fish, animals and fruit in parts of Japan are now mutating .... yet the officials say that 'everything is under control'

I'm not sure what I'm meant to see/conclude in those photos ^

eg. someone's looking at a really tall sunflower. Don't they usually grow tall in Japan then? And funny-shaped vegetables? Happens all the time here in the UK

As well as pollinating by hand with small brush as mentioned above, have you considered placing moth and butterfly (and other insect) loving plants in the vicinity of your toms/other fruiting plants?

It may be too late for this year but worth considering for next year.

Japanese hornets love eating honeybees and kill thousands at a time. The Japanese import all their honeybees - not native to Japan - and their suppliers are busy restocking the US where losses were huge..30% +
