  • bees in compost bin

A swarm of bees landed on the plastic compost bin & have now taken residence inside.
The problem is that the house is soon going on the market & I don`t know how long they stay. Any advice gratefully received.

If they are honey bees you can usually get someone to collect them but you do need to be sure they are honey bees. Do You Have a Swarm? - British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) - Supporting honey bees in Britain

Agree with Norfolkgrey. If they are honeybees, someone from your local beekeeping association will be glad of them. If they are honeybees, they could be there for a few years if left to their own devices. Best to get someone to take them presto pronto.

Nice looking compost bin. No wonder they thought it would make a great home!

10 to 1 they have white fluffy bottoms and yellow and black striped bodies.
