  • Rabbits

A wascally wabbit has been at my Sweetcorn (at least I know that the early crop is perfectly ripe now). Other than mesh fencing around the bed anything else I can do?

Are you sure it's rabbits? The resident rat population at the allotment are rather partial to sweetcorn and once it's ready won't leave the crop alone until it's all gone.

      Rats

I'm assuming it was rabbits because I've seen one on the road leading up to the allotments. The cob that was eaten was on a stunted plant and a rabbit head level, should have taken a photo (might do that if I get a chance).

Could it be a deer? What level was it at? Years ago my site had badgers eating everyone's corn.

We have lots of Old Deers in Kairdiff but their teeth probably aren't up to eating sweetcorn

            As you were.................
