  • Caterpillar cocoons

My veg garden is beneath oak trees and there are loads af caterpillars falling out of the trees and landing on my veg. They aren't eating anything though, just rolling over the leaf and making themselves into a cocoon. I am concerend though that the butterflies when they hatch will lay their eggs on the veg which will then be munched into oblivion........
Are my worst fears to be realised????
I have been removing the cocoons to my son's 'butterfly farm' but I don't fancy their chances!! I know that butterflies are the gooodies and I don't want to finish them off before they even get started!
Should they stay or should they go!!!??
