    Can I use bonfire ashes on my plot ? Should I let it weather first

      If wood ash then yes. Just put a load around my apple tree

        However, if you're burning all sorts of junk in your bonfire, the advice may be completely different.

          Untreated Wood - Yes
          Treated / Painted Wood / Mixed Material (Plastics/ MDF / Chipboards etc) - No

            just curious, in south africa they have a tree/wood called tambotie it has a sap that is toxic and the ash is also toxic, any such beasties in the uk?

              Not a tree, but I'd go nowhere near giant hog weed. Burns your skin with the sap. One for the blow torch / Weed burner. Kill (burn) on sight
