  • Winter on it's way!

Heard on Autumn Watch that most of the UK could have frost on Saturday night!
Temperatures down to -1 overnight. Then next week Northerly winds bringing snow into north Scotland mid week. Fleeces at the ready - for the plants and ourselves!!

Looks like the hot water bottles going to see some action over the next few weeks. I can't remember what program I heard it on but they were predicting a really bad winter this year. I wouldn't mind, but Monday I was sat in the garden in a t-shirt...British weather, don't ya just love it

One of my friends has a holly bush absolutely covered in red berries

I asked her if it had that many berries last year and she said no...not at all
...so if that's a sign of things to come I'd better get a stock of food in ( we hit -15C several times last winter- and were snowed in three times for several days!!!!)

...actually..I'm quite looking forward to crisp frosty mornings!

It's bound to get cold from this weekend. My Sister's coming home from Spain for a couple of weeks. She really hates the cold weather. Last two visits she's come back to snow! LOL

Annual thread resurrection. 5 day forecast is showing 1c for next Wednesday night time, guess we're heading in to frost territory. Reading back I see the bad winter we had was correctly predicted

I know it's going to be cold because I've just dug out the thermostat and of course, it's not working the heating. yes I know you're meant to check it in summer, but does anyone actually get round to it?

Not really much of a winter right now which im actually quite happy about. The last 2 years went on for long enough. Never again will i moan at the lack of snow we get in Lincolnshire lol.
