    Might as well give up!

I left the house this morning and it was a lovely sunny day, so I left the door on the greenhouse slightly open so as not to cook the plants and seedlings that are in there (it's reached 35 degrees before now). Now it's turned cold outside and it's bucketing down. My poor babies are gonna get the sniffles and I won't be able to help them until I get in tonight!

I hope your plants will be allright Heywayne. Maybe you should check the weather forecast I find Metcheck very accurate for precipitation etc but hopelessly pessimistic with temperatures.

Put my lickle seedlings outside this morning, while I did the school run there were viciously hailed on! They seem to be perking up a bit now fortunatly.

I watched both BBC and GMTV weather and both said that the temperature would be about 15 degrees today. It's colder than that out there!

Don't get time to check on t'interweb before I leave the house - takes about half an hour for the computer to wake up (all gets switched off over night).

Wait until May then open the greehouse window. Shut it in October.

It just doesn't seem worth the hassle to keep faffing about with it. For the last two years I've done this and everything has grown really well. Its amazing how warm everything stays even with the window open plus the air keeps recycling which is only a good thing.

It really is a day of "sunshine and showers" today, glorious sunshine at the moment, but it'll probably be bucketing down again by the time I've finished typing....

(by the way, when I say greenhouse, it's only one of those 6x2 jobbies).

That'll be why you get such a temperature variation, it warms up quickly and cools down very quickly due to the volume of air in it!
A shame no ones invented a door opener and closer similar to a window vent.

You're an engineer aren't you HeyWayne? All you need is a spring loaded bi-metalic strip rigged to the door.............................!

yip, weather is totally frustrating at the moment isn't it? My bro came around tonight...it was sunny and fairly warm so thought we'd sit outside, next thing a total downpour! please god...some warmth and stability needed!

Au contrare Snadge me old chum, my Technical Director would have kittens if he heard that! I do what he affectionately calls the "marketing bullsh*t" side of things. I understand certain engineering principles, but you would'nt want me to design your house!
