  • Frost anyone???

We've had 2 nights of proper frost.

Tuesday night hit 0C and last night -1C.
Our courgette plants are officially over

If I recall correctly our last frost was around 7th June so it's a bit of a shock to realise we've only had 15 weeks frost free!

(We've had to get the fleeces out ready for tonight to go over the toms and peppers)

Anyone else losing plants to frost yet????

Yup, courgettes, runners and French beans dying, another night last night of 4C.

Late last frost early first frost this year, same as you.......spose we ain't a million miles away from each other
I've got fleeces over the squash now - but even the daytime forecasts aren't warm for the next week or so

Nothing here yet but it was very cold last night. Our friends (about 25 k from us) had -3. I did notice the leaves dropping on my figs so I'll be putting them in tonight - one of them has a load of nearly ripe fruit and I'd be so sorry if I lost the lot.

I should probably have shut the greenhouse door a week ago. It's chilly out here in Chadderton at the moment. And getting miserably dark! Just went to pick a few raspberrys off my plot and it's very gloomy.

We had it before the end of August. I couldn't believe it when I had to scrape the car!

We had our first on Tuesday apparently, but I was tucked up warm in bed, so I missed it.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
