Broadbeans have been more on the deck than upright. Need to stand them up again tomarrow. Still it hasn't affected the crop and I have a ton of beans to pick tomorrow. First row sown is up at 4ft high with a couple of plants tipping 5ft. Never seen them grow so high before.

Had to give up sowing any seeds outside today - wanted to plant some parsnips - really windy here on the south coast but sunny ish quite cloudy at times BUT no rain...so far.A weed is a plant that has mastered every survival skill except for learning how to grow in rowsComment

Be careful though! We have had very light(ish) wind here and it still managed to snap one of my broad bean plants. I have repaired it with string and tape and it seems to have picked back up (it wasn't fully snapped, some of the stem was still supported)Originally posted by gojiberry View PostComment

Why is it when it says there's going to be wind it's always right? Rain or sun or snow you can never be sure, but yep if it says wind, there'll be wind

Was a bit windy wasn't it. The wind managed to snap one of the siver birch I planted a few years back.
Broad beans are still stading though!

short peas are laying on the ground but luckily the tall peas are still upright as they had much more support!
