A friend has been trying to grow these beans and hasn't managed to get one to germinate. He has given me 4 beans to try.
I've had a look on the 'net and they seem to be a wax variety of dwarf bush bean that can be sown til end July so it's not too late to get something growing.
Question is, is there anything about these beans i.e. temperature for germination that we need to know about or do we just treat them the same as any other bean?
I was just going to sow into pots in greenhouse but maybe they need to be warmer/colder? Anyone grown these before?
I'm wondering if the beans weren't fully mature when harvested and dried. They are the usual black and white colour like the chinese Ying Yang symbol. One website said the beans had to be almost bursting out of their pods before they should be harvested for keeping as seed.
