Looks a good size to me, i am still learning as well so i will leave it to one of the more experienced viners to give you an idea of seedling to fruiting times, out of interest what variety are they?

Thye are cayenne and Jalapino..... the fun bit is i don't know which is which!!!! ( labels got washed away ) have another 6 plants at he same size.

Unfortunatly only 1 of my sweet peppers have survived this long but is looking healthy and i can see small buds forming on it, that plant has been having extra special care since its the last one!!

I think i depends on the variety, last year my Japapeanos were about 2ft tall then flowered, but my habanareos flowerere from about 6inches.

P.S remember many chillies can be kept from one year to the next, just keep the frost of them

plenty of time yet.......most chilli plants seem to grow in stops and starts.......you don't check them for a couple of days and Boom! they're twice the size sprouting buds............or dead........stop checking them and let them hang free!

By cayenne has peppers and it's not much bigger than that. Has it split into two yet, the main stems seems to divide and then you get baby buds not long after.

They wil fruit - mine are planted in the polytunnel soil (realistically they are actually planted in about six inches of 5 year old FYM), and are currently about 2 - 2.5 ft tall with loads of fruit and flowers, but they can be slow.
When the fruit forms you will be able to tell the difference - cayenne peppers are longer and thinner, whereas Jalapeno peppers will be fatter and more rounded than the cayenne.

Good Veggielover. It's all just down to time and patience. Once they start to flower they soon get on with the job. Once the flowers fall off you should see a little chilli forming there.

With 17 plants you'll soon have a bumper crop Bramble Killer.
Do you know you can freeze them ?
Just put them whole on a tray and put the tray in the freezer and tip into a frezzer bag once frozen.
Use them from frozen - just take out the number you want and slice, deseed and chop whilst still frozen - they're fine for cooking with.
                          Here's my Hungarian Blacks.

They look good Alice - you keep your chillis in the house then? Just hardened my 'Meek & Mild' Poblano type chilli outside with the sweet pepper.
What is a poblana type chilli anyway? Only bought them 'cos of the description of dark bottle green fruits?!?!?

                              Patience grasshopper.

They will fruit. Yours are bigger than mine were when I left home and I have no doubts there will be fruit on mine when I get back.

And as Pies has said, if you can keep them frost free you have a good chance of keeping the plants through the winter too. There was a thread on this subject late last year from memory.

Alice, thanks for that freezing tip, I didnt know that.
