  • White stuff on courgette leaves?

Anyone know what it might be? It's like a white covering, not over all of the leaf though.

    Thanks
    Rachel

I have the same, but like you it's not on all the leaves and also not all over the leave (just parts). It don't seem to have effected the growth on the plant so I'm not worried.

Have you got a photo? It might be quite harmless. Can't think of it's name right now but there is a light dusting they sometimes get and doesn't seem to harm the plants. My squash had a light chalky-like dusting on their leaves last year and it didn't seem to harm the plant or fruits at all...

Its probably mildew. Mine often get it and it does not affect them cropping too much. Just wipe the fruits when harvested

I think you will find it's normal! At least mine have been as you describe every year I have grown them.I checked again to day,and yes they have the white marks, but plants are growing well, and fruits forming.Looked on some of the other plots and their plants look like it to.Hope this makes you feel abit better. It's either normal, or a heck of a lot of people have got same problem.

I too have it on my courgettes this year and had it on them last - made no difference to the plant at all - still gave me enough courgettes to have OH and all my neighbours saying "No, don't want anymore courgettes"

Powdery mildew. Loves the hot dry conditions that we've been having. & anything that slows down courgette production is welcomed in our house as we can't eat enough of the little blighters

                  Thanks!

Most of the courgettes look alright, the few that I haven't. They haven't quite got around to sprouting loads yet...but I have one nice round one
