  • What to use my spuds for

    I've got some kestrel and valour spuds ready for digging but they don't seem to be turning out well for boiling.Have any grapes got any experience of using these?

    nope- but have you tried steaming them?
    My waxy Charlottes have turned out differently this year too

        One more reason to try them next year.I think you've convinced me.
        I made some chips from Desiree,they were allright but the best chips so far I had from Golden Wonder.

          Hardly surprising.... they're supposed to be the best frying variety.... why do you think that Golden Wonder crisps chose their name?

          Valor are pretty good bakers (assuming the potato I had a couple of nights ago was a Valor though I think it is, I grew other varieties this year but it certainly wasn't a KE, PFA or Desiree and Maris Piper were in a different bit of the plot...)
