  • Welcome to the jungle!

As I'm pleased I can finally post pictures I thought I'd show a picture of part of the veg patch. As you can see I'm in danger of being overtaken by squashes and Swiss chard. Actually quite hard to get in and find courgettes! Had chickens on this spot for about 2 years, guess all that old poo has given everything a turbo boost

Anyone else got photos of a jungle instead of a veg patch?

Nice of you to say VL - you'll notice I haven't shown the other side which doesn't look as good! The secret is hoeing and squash plants to smother weeds! Plus lots of poo

I like the way you've got canes & twine & you've been pinching armpits, tying in etc, all the stuff youre meant to, but your toms have had other ideas!

The view is lovely - but really really really windy? & that pretty yellow stuff is ragwort

Ours is a jungle too. We've had a wet summer with moderate sun compared to last year where we had a couple of month long droughts instead.

Everything was well spaced at the beginning for watering but you can hardly move now. Not that stuff like the tomatoes need watering, they are still all green and I think if they dont get watered they will hopefully mature. They get a good soak from the rain every 4 days now anyway.
