I'm growing 2 tuscany plants in 50 ltr plastic trugs, both doing ok although one get a bit bashed by the last winds, however bearing fruit.
Both are producing both Male and Female flowers in approx' equal numbers...???? is it best to leave the males on or Pinch them out and/or what ratio male to female is best..???
    Advice please.
    Gp

I leave all flowers on plants, and tend to get plenty of courgettes without removing any male flowers

You need some male flowers, however if there area lot spare they are edible and quite tasty - i believe flowers are sometimes coated in a light batter and flash-fried though I've not tried that myself, I just eat them raw.

Sorry for the late reply and Thankyou all for your answers.

I followed your advice and left all flowers on.
They have done marvelously well and No Sign of P Mildew.

I go by the reasoning that the male flowers are training the bees to come back to the plant regularly before the plant puts the energy into the female flowers.
