  • Tomatoes in pots

Somewhere else on the vine, and I can't find where, there was a discussion about the correct size of final pot in which a tomato plant would grow. I'm just about to order more polypots and would welcome any comments on the correct size. I think it was Nicos who said 10l but there was a query about 5l pots. I don't want to plant them in too big a pot (and waste space and compost) but at the same time I want to make sure they will have enough room and not dry out. Any comments very welcome. All the books I have on veg gardening don't seem to comment on this aspect. Thanks.

Amanda it was Nick who recommended 10L. He said it was the equivalent to a 2 gallon bucket. It is reply #57 in Trials On Tomatoes 2006 in Allotment Advice.
